This article introduces the way to convert planned order into production order by using transaction MD04.

STEP 1 Get into transaction MD04.
Follow the SAP menu “Logistics -> Materials Management -> Inventory Management -> Environment -> Stock -> MD04-Stock/Requirements List” to get into transaction MD04.
STEP 2 Input the material number and select the plant, then press Enter button.
STEP 3 Stock/Requirements List
Below is the screenshot of “Stock/Requirements List”, you need to find the planned order you want to convert, and click the “Details of element” button.
STEP 4 Click the “production order” button in the popped up window.
STEP 5 Click the save button to generate production order.

The way to solve the error “Scheduling parameters are not defined for production orders” when we are creating production orders
When we are creating production order, SAP system may occur an error message “Scheduling parameters are not defined for production orders”, like the picture below.
To solve this problem, we can customize the scheduling parameters for production order type. We use the transaction code SPRO to get into the IMG interface of SAP at first, then we follow the menu path “Production->Capacity Requirements Planning->Operations->Scheduling->Define Scheduling Parameters for Production Orders” to get into the interface of the customizing. We can also use transaction code OPU3 to get into the interface easily.
We can select an item in the table below, and click the “copy as…” button, which you can see below.
We change the plant and order type to which we want to maintain. Besides, we can adjust other parameters by necessary. At last, save our changes.
